Ferry County: Get Free QPR Suicide Prevention Training
Anticipating that COVID events and post COVID adaptations were likely to increase the disparity between Ferry County’s and the state’s average suicide mortality rate , we decided to begin addressing the issue by offering prevention training to all Ferry County residents, free of charge, through a well- researched and tested program used worldwide, QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer). What Else We’re Working On
We have identified Child Care as another issue affecting Ferry County, specifically the shortage of child care options. Through a Child Care Planning Grant from the Washington State Department of Commerce, we are taking the first steps in addressing this issue by researching and data gathering toward laying out a roadmap of the requirements for providing licensed child care in Ferry County, including licensing, programmatic offerings, facilities, grounds & equipment and staffing ratios for the various types of child care offerings.
Also, to hasten the time by providing for the health safety of all Ferry County residents, as well as those visiting and traveling outside the county, as we move to put COVID behind us, we are supporting a campaign promoting COVID vaccinations for all.

Who We Are
Since its conceptual beginning in January 2016 at the Ferry County Health facility in Republic WA, through formation guidance by Better Health Together and Northwest Rural Health Network, a county-wide Community Health Needs Assessment, and obtaining licensing as a Washington State non-profit corporation with a 501(c)3 IRS status in 2019, Healthy Ferry County Coalition is serving the county by providing a forum for organizations and individuals to work collaboratively in more efficient use of scarce resources for improving the health and socio-economic determinants of health for all Ferry County citizens.
